On March 7, the Uzbek Ambassador to Italy, Abat Fayzullaev, was received in Florence by the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani.
The meeting was organized by the Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan for Tuscany and Umbria, as well as CIUZ Advisor, Leonardo Comucci, and took place at Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati, the headquarters of the Presidency of the Tuscany Region.
Fayzullaev and Giani expressed their shared willingness to further strengthen the already well-established relations between Tuscany and Uzbekistan, both at the cultural and economic level, identifying the textile, agriculture, logistics, and pharmaceutical sectors as strategic areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Fayzullaev then invited President Giani and the Regional Councillor for Culture, Cristina Manetti, to visit Uzbekistan next July, and proposed the organization of an institutional mission accompanied by a delegation of companies and cultural organizations. The invitation was positively accepted by Giani.
During the meeting, it was also announced that an institutional twinning between the Tuscany Region and the Bukhara Region will be established, with the aim of further strengthening economic, cultural, and academic cooperation.
