Activities and Fairs in 2025
DECEMBER 10th
On December 10th, a cultural event took place at Palazzo Castiglioni in Milan, organized in collaboration with AICE – the Italian Foreign Trade Association. The program included a presentation of the novel “Anche se proibito. La folle impresa di Igor V. Savitsky” featuring a conversation between the author, Giulio Ravizza, and CIUZ Council Member Roberto Mori.
NOVEMBER 19-20
On November 19th and 20th, EVENIO Expo Italy was held in Tashkent, a B2B event in the furniture sector organized in collaboration with CIUZ and member company Medinit. The event brought together eight leading Italian companies in the furniture and interior design industry, who met with Uzbek counterparts to explore potential future commercial partnerships. On November 18th, the Italian delegation was welcomed by the Embassy of Italy in Tashkent at a reception attended by Chargé d’Affaires Andrea de Felip. Afterwards, the companies visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan for an institutional meeting with MEYOS, the Uzbek Furniture Manufacturers Association, and its members.
SEPTEMBER 25th
On September 25th, a reception was held at the Hotel Cavalieri in Rome to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy. The event was attended by Italian and Uzbek institutional representatives, as well as several CIUZ members. CIUZ was represented by its Executive Vice President, Giuseppe Ferrario, who took the opportunity to meet with the counterparts present and strengthen relations with Uzbek partners. The evening, enriched by traditional Uzbek music and a buffet of typical dishes, served as an important occasion for networking and for further consolidating economic and cultural ties between Italy and Uzbekistan.
SEPTEMBER 13-17
From September 13th to 17th, a water-sector mission took place in Uzbekistan, organized and supported by CIUZ for its member Acquaflex. Acquaflex, a leading company in chemical technologies for industrial water treatment, travelled to the country for a series of meetings and site visits with Uzkimyosanoat (UKS) and UzbekNefteGaz (UNG), the Uzbek state holdings for the chemical and fertilizer industry and the upstream and downstream Oil & Gas sector, respectively. The mission, accompanied by CIUZ President Giorgio Veronesi, included technical visits to facilities in Navoy and Bukhara, as well as an institutional meeting with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan.
SEPTEMBER 15th
On September 15th, CIUZ hosted its member Azerbaijan Uzbekistan Investment Company (AUIC) at its Milan office for a presentation aimed at Italian companies. CEO Nazim Hajiyev and Advisor Zaur Beck outlined the direct investment opportunities offered by AUIC in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, with a focus on the education, metal processing, bioprocessing, fintech and IT sectors. Following the presentation, the participating companies introduced their activities and took part in B2B meetings with AUIC representatives.
AUGUST
In August, CIUZ took part in two international events in Uzbekistan. From August 22nd to 24th, the Uzum Sayli International Wine Festival was held in the Tashkent Region, dedicated to promoting the country’s wine sector and agritourism. Leonardo Comucci, Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Italy and member of the Board of the Italy–Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, attended the event at the invitation of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Consul Comucci delivered several insightful speeches and met with the Governor of the Tashkent Region, Zoir Mirzayev, as well as Shadiyev Umid Rustamovich, head of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee. Later, on August 28–29, the Chamber’s Representative in Tashkent, Oybek Irgashev, participated in the international trade and investment forum “Do Business in Syrdarya”. During the event, organized by the regional authorities of Syrdarya in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, Irgashev met with the Governor of Syrdarya, Erkinjon Turdimov, and discussed potential collaborations between the Region and Italian companies.
JULY 11th
On July 11th, a Business Forum between the Lombardy Region and the Samarkand Region was held in Milan, at Palazzo Lombardia. The event was organized alongside a bilateral meeting and followed the first interregional forum held in Samarkand in June 2025. A large Uzbek delegation attended, with over 50 business representatives. CIUZ participated with a delegation led by President Giorgio Veronesi, accompanied by Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario, Vice President Marco Farci, Textile Sector Advisor Bianchi, and members of the Secretariat. Key topics included cooperation in the textile sector, training of nursing staff, business internationalization, and tourism development. President Veronesi gave a speech presenting the Chamber’s activities in support of the bilateral economic dialogue between Italy and Uzbekistan.
JUNE
In June 2025, CIUZ was involved in two major economic and institutional events in Uzbekistan. From June 9th to 12th, the fourth edition of the Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF) was held in Tashkent, opened by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and attended by Italian guests of honor including Attilio Fontana and Raffaele Cattaneo. CIUZ participated with a delegation led by President Giorgio Veronesi and Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario. Among the highlights, President Veronesi held a talk at the panel focused on the chemical sector. Concurrently, on June 11th, CIUZ took part in the Republic Day reception organized by the Italian Embassy in Tashkent.
On June 12th and 13th, the first Interregional Forum between Italy and Uzbekistan took place in Samarkand, featuring the Lombardy Region and the Samarkand Region as key participants. The Lombardy delegation, led by President Attilio Fontana, included institutions and companies such as Assolombarda, SEA, Promos Italia, and UCIMU. The agenda began with a bilateral meeting between Fontana and Governor Adiz Boboyev, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on industrial cooperation, agro-food development, joint ventures, and training. This was followed by a business forum fostering dialogue between local and Italian companies, with active participation from CIUZ.
MAY 13-15
From May 13th to 15th, CIUZ participated in the 27th edition of Oil&Gas Uzbekistan (OGU), a key event for the energy sector in Central Asia. Represented by President Giorgio Veronesi and the Tashkent Representative Oybek Irgashev, CIUZ held a prominent space next to Uzbekneftegas at the new CAEx venue in Tashkent. Through its collective booth, CIUZ showcased Made in Italy products in a strategic regional context and promoted its members and Italian companies in the Oil & Gas sector, including AD Tubi, AG Refrigeration, Asco Pompe, Eurotecnica, Fagioli, Graf, House of Liquids, Musetti, Omega, Sofinter, and Terranova. The initiative was also indirectly supported by Acquaflex, Delta Engineering, ICE, Millbo, Orim, Peg, STP, and Techint. During the fair, the CIUZ booth hosted prominent figures such as Italian Ambassador Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, Uzbek Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, and Uzbekneftegas Chairman Bakhodirjon Sidikov.
APRIL 24th
On April 24th in Tashkent, a Memorandum of Understanding in the water treatment sector was signed between the Italian company Acquaflex, a CIUZ member, and Uzkimyosanoat, a leading Uzbek chemical and fertilizer company. Representing the two companies were CIUZ President Giorgio Veronesi for Acquaflex and Odil Temirov, Chairman of Uzkimyosanoat. The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Chairman Akbar Kurbanov and H.E. Abat Fayzullaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy.
APRIL 23-24
On April 23rd and 24th, the International Business Forum was held in the Jizzakh Region, an important event dedicated to promoting the economic, commercial, tourism, and investment opportunities of this strategic area of Uzbekistan. Organized by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local authorities, the forum welcomed over 200 entrepreneurs from 30 countries and several diplomatic representatives, including the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy, H.E. Abat Fayzullaev. CIUZ was represented by Oybek Irgashev, the Chamber’s Representative in Tashkent, while the Uzbek company Belting Rezina — owned by CIUZ member Toscana Nastri — also took part in the forum.
MARCH 17th
On March 17th, the Lecco office of the Como-Lecco Chamber of Commerce hosted a meeting dedicated to economic opportunities in Uzbekistan, organized in collaboration with CIUZ. The initiative consisted in a country presentation, with valuable contributions from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy and two CIUZ member companies, which shared their operational experiences in Uzbekistan, offering direct insights on ongoing projects and emerging opportunities. During the meeting, the country’s main economic development strategies were illustrated, with particular focus on the textile, chemical, agri-food sectors and natural resources. Numerous Italian companies interested in learning about the Uzbek market’s prospects took part in the event, along with representatives of local institutions.
MARCH 12-13
On March 12th and 13th, CIUZ took part in the “Match4 East Europe & Balkans” event in Pordenone, which featured Uzbekistan as the guest country. Dedicated to the furniture sector, the initiative brought together Italian and international companies through b2b meetings held directly at the fair. Represented by Samantha Rampini and Maria Mengoni, CIUZ accompanied a delegation of eight Uzbek companies, who presented symbolic artisanal gifts to the organizers during the opening ceremony. Throughout the event, the Chamber managed a dedicated desk, supporting Uzbek companies in their meetings with Italian counterparts and promoting business opportunities in Uzbekistan.
FEBRUARY 10-13
From February 10th to 13th, a business mission in the agrochemical sector took place in Uzbekistan. Organized by the Chamber for one of its member companies, the mission followed a market scouting activity carried out in the previous months. The company was accompanied by CIUZ Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario and the Chamber’s Representative in Tashkent, Oybek Irgashev. During the week, seven companies were visited across Samarkand, Tashkent, and Namangan, with meetings focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration and the distribution of innovative agricultural solutions. The mission provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with local operators and potential partners, gaining insights into the Uzbek market.
FEBRUARY 5th
On February 5th CIUZ, represented by Vice President Marco Farci, took part in a meeting at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, dedicated to Mixed Chambers and Foreign Chambers of Commerce operating in Italy. The event featured an address by Giuseppe Tripoli, Secretary General of Unioncamere, who reaffirmed the strategic role of the Chambers in fostering international economic relations. Participants exchanged experiences and challenges, confirming the importance of dialogue and international cooperation for enhancing the global competitiveness of Italian companies.
2024
SEPTEMBER 3rd
On December 3rd, the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce participated, at the invitation of the Uzbek Embassy in Italy, in a reception at the Galleria del Cardinale Colonna in Rome. The event featured a rich cultural program to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, with traditional music and dances, as well as an authentic Uzbek dinner. Many important institutions, associations, and companies involved in business with Uzbekistan in Italy attended, along with prominent institutional and ministerial representatives.
SEPTEMBER 20th-21st
A classical music concert, featuring both vocal and symphonic performances, was held on September 20th at the Torkistan Concert Hall in Tashkent. This event, organized by the Chamber, continued the tradition set in 2022 and 2023. The performers included Italian musicians Ludovico Troncanetti (pianist) and Valentina Boi (soprano), alongside Uzbek musicians Janisbek Piyazov (bass) and the Uzbekistan Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alibek Kabdurakhmanov.
On September 21st, also in Tashkent, our member Toscana Nastri hosted an event to celebrate 20 years of presence in Uzbekistan.
JUNE 15th
On June 15th, an event was organized by the Chamber for its members in Florence. CIUZ members were hosted for an Uzbek lunch at the Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan for the Tuscany and Umbria regions, followed by a visit, together with the Consul and CIUZ Counselor Leonardo Comucci, to the exhibition “Uzbekistan: The Avant-Garde in the Desert. Light and Color.”
MAY 28th
On May 28th, CIUZ, represented by Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario and Vice President Marco Farci, attended the Uzbekistan-Italy Business Lunch in Rome. The event was chaired by Uzbek Foreign Minister Saidov and Italian Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Tripodi, with representatives from ministries, agencies, and companies from Uzbekistan, along with a selected group of Italian businesses, associations, and institutions, to discuss topics of mutual economic and commercial cooperation.
MAY 14th-16th
From May 14 to 16, CIUZ participated in O&G Uzbekistan – OGU 2024, represented by President Giorgio Veronesi and the Head of the Representative Office in Tashkent, Oibek Irgashev. Alongside CIUZ, a large delegation of our members also took part: Asco Pompe, Graf, Wood, Eurotecnica, Orim, HOL, Nigrema, Dronelab, Omega Chemical, CERIN, and Toscana Nastri. The Chamber’s stand received a high number of visitors, including the Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Agostino Pinna, and the Minister of Energy, Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, and was awarded the best national stand by the organizers, Iteca. On this occasion, the Italian team and local company representatives were hosted at the Ambassador’s residence for a pleasant evening of mutual acquaintance.
CIUZ also took part in the TIIF (Tashkent International Investment Forum) in early May, represented by Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario.
APRIL 15th-16th
CIUZ participated on April 15th and 16th in the inauguration of the exhibitions “Uzbekistan: The Avant-Garde in the Desert” held in Florence at the Uffizi Gallery and in Venice at Ca’ Foscari University to showcase paintings from the Nukus Museum, true masterpieces, particularly from the early 20th century. The events were attended by the Uzbek President’s Assistant Saida Mirziyoyeva and Ambassador Fayzullayev. Representing CIUZ were Leonardo Comucci, organizer of the Florence event, Dario Barducci, Marco Farci, and Samantha Rampini in Florence, and Giuseppe Ferrario in Venice.
MARCH
Regarding the Chamber’s academic activities, CIUZ President Giorgio Veronesi met in March with the new rector of TPUT (Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent) and the rector of UDEA (University of Digital Economics and Agrotechnologies) to strengthen relations with the Chamber and agree on the development of training activities in Italy.
For what concerns activities and relations with institutions, on March 11th, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between CIUZ and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan to foster closer collaboration in trade between Italy and Uzbekistan, particularly in the textile sector.
FEBRUARY 28th
On February 28th, a webinar was held, organized by Banca Popolare di Sondrio, the Uzbek Embassy in Rome, and CIUZ, with the participation of 104 companies. The presentation by Giorgio Veronesi, “What are the Opportunities for Italian Companies in Uzbekistan”, along with Counselor Ulugbek Burkhanov’s talk and investment experiences in the country shared by Renato Spagnolo from Cotonella and Dario Barducci from Toscana Nastri, generated significant interest and follow-up requests.

Regarding the Chamber’s events in 2024, on February 8th, CIUZ organized an introductory and coordination meeting between Ambassador Fayzullayev and Assolombarda, with the participation of Counselor Burkhanov and Honorary Consul in Milan, Massimo Pollio.
Activities and Fairs in 2023
NOVEMBER 9th-11th
On November 9th, 10th, and 11th, President Mattarella visited Uzbekistan, meeting with President Mirzoyoyev, greeting a limited Italian delegation, where CIUZ was represented by Councilor Marco Farci. He then visited the Tashkent headquarters of the Polytechnic University of Turin (TPUT).
As for academic activities, the collaboration agreements of Uzkimyosanoat – UKS in the field of Chemical Engineering with the Polytechnic University of Milan (Department of Industrial Engineering) and with the University of Pisa have been signed and can become operational.
The relationship with the Uzbek university UDEA (University of Digital Economy and Agriculture), with which the Chamber has long-standing collaboration agreements, continues in the areas of project management – as done in the past, before COVID, with the Polytechnic University of Milan – in the most modern forms of agriculture, with a focus on sustainability and circular economy, and in the banking system.
NOVEMBER 3rd-4th
On November 3rd and 4th, the Eurasia Forum, previously held in Verona and in Baku in 2022, was held in Samarkand. CIUZ was invited to moderate a special session and to discuss business activities between the two countries and the opportunities that Uzbekistan offers to Italian companies.
SEPTEMBER 27th
On September 27th, a workshop on the topic of green technologies for energy transition and circular economy was held in Tashkent. The workshop was organized by the Italy Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (CIUZ) and the Polytechnic University of Turin in Tashkent (TPUT). Presentations were made by the Polytechnics of Milan and Turin, various Italian and Uzbek companies, and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
CIUZ and TPUT, one of the most renowned universities in Uzbekistan, which operates a double degree program with the Polytechnic of Turin, organized a working day on the topic of energy transition to introduce the invited Uzbek companies and TPUT students to the available technologies and experiences gained in this field.
SEPTEMBER 13th
On September 13th an event organized by the Uzbek Embassy was held in Rome to celebrate the anniversary of the Uzbek Republic. On this occasion, Ambassador Otabek Akbarov informed the participants of the conclusion of his assignment and his imminent return home. The Ambassador gave an overview of his positive experience in our country, also thanking CIUZ, and in particular Luigi Iperti, for the effective collaboration and for the help provided since his installation.
JUNE 6th
On June 6th, a Business Forum took place at Confindustria in Rome, organized by the Uzbek Embassy in Rome and Farnesina, with significant participation from Uzbek and Italian companies. During this event, several collaboration agreements were signed, some of which were by CIUZ members.
On the occasion of the historic visit of Uzbek President Mirzoyovev on June 8th and 9th in Rome and Milan respectively, CIUZ, represented by the President and the Honorary President, participated in a roundtable discussion with entrepreneurs and representatives of institutions. This discussion was held by President Mirzoyoyev at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan, and received a lot of attention.
JUNE 3rd
On June 3rd CIUZ organized an outdoor classical music concert at the Navoyi Theater in Tashkent, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Tashkent and with the support of the sponsors ASCO Pompe, Uzbek Textile Association, Banca Intesa, Graf, Pietro Fiorentini, Toscana Nastri and Uzkimyosanoat-UKS. The event saw the participation of Italian musicians, the pianist Ludovico Troncanetti and the soprano Valentina Boi, and Uzbek and the national symphony orchestra of Uzbekistan.
MAY 29th–31st
From May 29th to 31st, CIUZ participated with the head of the textile sector, Gianmario Bianchi, in the Textile Exhibition in Tashkent, to strengthen the collaboration relationship established last year with the Uzbek Textile Association. Several local companies producing thread, fabrics and ready-made clothes were visited, with which various collaborations with Italian companies are possible.
MAY 18th–20th
Following the success of the 2022 edition, from May 18th to 20th, CIUZ participated in OGU 2023, the Oil & Gas Fair in Tashkent. Our stand hosted many CIUZ members (ASCO Filtri, ASCO Pompe, Delta Engineering, Eurotecnica, Graf, HOL, Italpiping, SANCO, Socrate, Steel Trade, Termomeccanica, Versalis and Wood) and also a representation of ITA, formerly ICE. This was the largest Italian representation in the many years of participation in the event, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.
APRIL 27th–28th
On April 27 and 28, CIUZ participated, along with some of its members, in the 2nd Tashkent International Investment Forum, represented by Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario. The Forum focused on the country’s priority interest for international investments and the development of foreign companies’ presence in the territory, as well as the great efforts that Uzbekistan is making on the legal and fiscal front to facilitate this presence. On the occasion of the mission to Tashkent, Giuseppe Ferrario also served as an international observer of the conduct of the referendum for the amendment of the Constitution.
APRIL 22nd
On April 22nd CIUZ participated in the in the graduation ceremony of master’s degrees in Russian language at the Catholic University, with which CIUZ has signed a collaboration agreement.
MARCH 31st
On March 31st CIUZ organized a meeting in Milan, together with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome and with the support of its Supporting Member Banca Intesa. The meeting was with the Uzbek delegation for ceramics and construction materials, led by the OCP Bank Deputy Chairman, Shahkzod Yusupov. On this occasion, a collaboration agreement was signed with the “Building Materials Industry Development Council” and the “Uzbuildmaterials Association”.

ENTREPRENEURIAL MISSION TO TASHKENT – NOVEMBER 22nd-25th
From November 22nd to 25th an entrepreneurial mission regarding the Oil&Gas sector was held in Tashkent. This mission provided the opportunity to conduct high-level meetings with institutions, potential partners, etc.
ENTREPRENEURIAL MISSION TO TASHKENT – OCTOBER 11th-14th
From October 11th to 14th, the Uztextile fair was held in Tashkent. This fair represents an opportunity of interest for Italian operators in the textile sector, which is greatly expanding in the country. During the same period, the fair for the leather goods sector also took place. CIUZ organized a business mission in the textile and leather sector to offer to its current and potential members, who were interested in the fair, the opportunity to conduct some meetings with institutions, potential partners, etc., using their own contacts.
WEBINAR: COUNTRY PRESENTATION – SEPTEMBER 28th
On September 28, an online Country Presentation was held in collaboration with Banca Popolare di Sondrio. The event saw the intervention of the Embassy, the Uzbek Development Agency, the Ipak Iuli bank, while on the Italian front our members Pietro Fiorentini and Toscana Nastri shared their experience and Sace intervened.
SIGNING OF MoU WITH UZCHARMSANOAT AT LINEAPELLE – SEPTEMBER 21st
The representation of the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, with the presence of President Giorgio Veronesi and Councilor Giuseppe Ferrario, met the first vice-president of the Uzcharmsanoat association, Akbar Sultanov, at the Lineapelle fair. The meeting was very fruitful in view of future collaborations in various stages of production in this sector, which include the supply of technologies, machinery, and specialist services from Italy, the import of products from Uzbekistan, and joint investments in the country. In addition, the Ciuz mission planned for October for the textile sector was also opened to the leather sector, coinciding with the “UzCharmExpo-2022 Leather, Footwear and Accessories” fair in Tashkent. A collaboration agreement was signed between Ciuz and the Uzbek association Uzcharmsanoat.
CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT IN TASHKENT – SEPTEMBER 17th
A concert organized by the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (CIUZ) with the support of the Italian Embassy in Tashkent and the sponsor companies ASCO Pompe SpA, Eurotecnica SpA, and Graf SpA, was held on September 17 in Tashkent in the Concert Hall of Torkistan, the most important in Uzbekistan. The concert saw the participation of the Italian pianist Ludovico Troncanetti, the bassist Janisbek Piyazov, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, directed by maestro Alibek Kabdurakhmanov. TEXTILE SECTOR BUSINESS FORUM– JUNE 24th
On June 24, a Business Forum was held online with the Uzbek Association of Textile and Clothing Industries. The event was attended by the main Uzbek companies in the sector, the Chairman of the Uzbek Textile Association, and Ambassador Akbarov. Collaboration programs were defined for matchmaking between Uzbek and Italian companies, for the preparation of training activities in design, and in the operation and maintenance of textile machines.
OGU – MAY 18th-20th
From May 18th to 20th, 2022, CIUZ was present at the Oil & Gas – OGU 2022, the most important event in Central Asia in the sector. CIUZ participated with two stands and a large delegation of its members: Asco Filtri, Asco Pompe, COES, Delta Engineering, Graf, Pietro Fiorentini, Steeltrade, Termomeccanica Pompe, Versalis, and Wood. This event marked the resumption of activities three years after the last edition in 2019. Read more.
TIIF (Tashkent International Investment Forum) – MARCH 24th-26th
From March 24th to 26th, 2022, CIUZ participated with its own delegation, composed of AC Boiler, Advice & Consulting, Arkad, Cotonella, Pietro Fiorentini, Tecon, and Wood, in the first Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF), a high-profile event strongly desired by the Uzbek government to promote investments in the country, with the direct participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
SIGNING OF MoU IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR – MARCH 10th
On March 10th, 2022, the Ministry of Agricultural Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Milan State University, and CIUZ signed an MoU in Milan to establish strategic cooperation for the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the 2020-2030 development plan to make the sector a driving force for economic growth, the creation of new jobs, and the increase in the income of the population.
