CIUZ Vice President Marco Farci met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in Tashkent during a day dedicated to international labour mobility and training for Uzbek citizens interested in working abroad.
The meeting focused on strengthening language and vocational training programmes tailored to the skills required by employers and the job opportunities available in destination countries.
In his remarks, Farci outlined prospects for cooperation with Italy, ranging from employment opportunities for Uzbek workers to helping Italian companies meet their staffing needs through structured recruitment, training and employment pathways. He also presented potential training initiatives to be developed directly in Uzbekistan. Farci then accompanied the President on a visit to the Intil Center, an international language and vocational training centre located in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district.
During the meetings, Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of expanding international partnerships to promote safe, regular labour mobility for skilled workers, highlighting growing opportunities for cooperation with European countries, including Italy.
Farci’s ongoing projects contribute to these objectives: developing bilateral cooperation on employment, establishing training pathways to prepare Uzbek nursing staff for employment in Lombardy, and supporting the pilot project that brought 36 workers from the Namangan region to Ferrara to work in the agricultural sector.
