On 23 September, the seminar “Doing Business in Uzbekistan 2026” was held at the Chamber’s offices. The event was organised by EY Member Firm in collaboration with CIUZ and brought together more than 20 companies, both in person and online, from a range of sectors including agribusiness, manufacturing, banking, furniture, and logistics.
Following opening remarks by President Veronesi on the market opportunities available in Uzbekistan, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from the China & CIS Desk and EY Uzbekistan, who provided valuable insights into the compliance, legal, and tax aspects related to Italian companies entering the Uzbek market. The programme also featured the experience of the Founding Member of Toscana Nastri, who shared the company’s twenty-year business journey in the country.
The speakers’ contributions offered participants both a strategic and practical overview of the business opportunities available in Uzbekistan, as well as the support and financing instruments currently accessible to companies. The discussion also addressed the challenges and constraints that businesses should take into account when approaching the market. Particular attention was given to cultural aspects and the human dimension of commercial relations with Uzbek counterparts.
We would like to thank the EY China & CIS Desk for proposing and organising this event, as well as Mr Pastori, Ms Podmareva, and Ms Tarnavska for their informative and insightful presentations. Special thanks also go to Mr Barducci for providing a concrete business case through the story of Belting Rezina.
Finally, we would like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions to the discussion and for the strong interest shown in the topic.
