ADB Annual Meeting in Milan: Uzbek Ministerial Delegation Meets Italian Companies at CIUZ office

On May 6, a series of meetings were held at the CIUZ office between a high-level Uzbek ministerial delegation and several Italian companies operating in Uzbekistan.

The delegation, which was visiting Milan to attend the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, was led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjayev. Among the distinguished participants were also the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Akram Aliev, and the Deputy Governor of the Samarkand Region Oybek Khamraev.

During the meetings, the delegation expressed strong interest in strengthening the commercial partnership between Italy and Uzbekistan, engaging with Italian companies to explore collaboration opportunities and the development of new future projects. Participating in the meetings were CIUZ member companies Techint, Asco Pompe, and Acquaflex — all well-established and already active in Uzbekistan — alongside Gamma Meccanica, a company operating in the plastics recycling sector.

The meetings were organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, represented by Ambassador Abat Fayzullaev and Counsellor Burkhon Khamidullaev. Representing CIUZ were President Giorgio Veronesi, Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario, and Honorary President Luigi Iperti.

The event reaffirmed CIUZ’s commitment to supporting and promoting bilateral economic relations by fostering opportunities for direct dialogue with Uzbek institutions.
